From there, the question arises on how senior citizens face these technological transformations. The objective of this paper is to analyze old people's perception about the use of technologies, and the support they received for their technological appropriation. A mixed design was implemented, combining a questionnaire (N=197), 16 interviews with older people, and 7 interviews with trainers. Among ICT users, the intermediate user is the most frequent. Despite the predominance of a positive perception among the elderly about the support they have received, a digital divide persists. A warm, “ideal” training expert uses simple language, is patient and empathic, and promotes continuous practice. Tensions over knowledge, power dynamics, and age differences are observed among young people (teachers) and old people (apprentices).
2025-05-05T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 https://doxa.uach.mx/index.php/doxa/article/view/369Social Cohesion: Conceptual Evolution and Recent Trends (2021–2025) from a Systematic PRISMA Review 2025-09-01T14:59:12+00:00Yadira Lozanoyadira.lozano@gmail.com
The concept of social cohesion has long been a subject of study within the fields of social sciences and humanities. Its formal exploration began in the late nineteenth century with sociologists Auguste Comte, Herbert Spencer, and Émile Durkheim. Over time, it has been consolidated as a central axis in the design of public policies (Haro, 2017). This paper contextualizes the evolution of the concept and reviews the state of the art over the last five years, with the aim of analyzing how the concept of social cohesion has been addressed in academic and technical literature between 2021 and 2025. The PRISMA methodology was employed to ensure a rigorous, transparent, and reproducible process in the collection, selection, and analysis of studies.
2025-11-09T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 https://doxa.uach.mx/index.php/doxa/article/view/323Covid-19 y estrategias familiares de sobrevivencia. Focusing on Algospeak, the study examines 312 headlines from September 2025. The findings reveal that journalists predominantly use altered spelling to circumvent automated moderation, especially on topics such as deaths and security. To compare the problems generated by… observing the social, economic conditions of women who perform this activity in the central areas of Tijuana and Ciudad Juárez. It was considered necessary to design a quantitative, cross-sectional study, at a descriptive, correlational and explanatory level, with a non-probabilistic sample of 325 sex workers selected by convenience. Tijuana and Ciudad Juárez and to elucidate the social implications that affect or benefit the well-being of women who perform sex work on both borders.

As a methodological strategy, this population group that works in the central areas of both borders was addressed, with a quantitative methodological approach, which initially allows structuring a sociodemographic profile of these women (labor, economic, social, health conditions and specific needs, among others). The sample was determined with the purpose of ensuring that the test results have a confidence level of 95% with a margin of error of ± 6, which would allow generalizations to be made about this female population aged 18 to 75. The random selection was made considering that the sample had a proportional representation of an average of 1,637 women who work in the central areas of Tijuana (952) and Ciudad Juárez (685) respectively.

For this purpose, descriptive statistics were first generated of the sociodemographic characteristics of sex workers and the prevalence of risk behaviors, to estimate the correlation between risk behaviors and sociodemographic variables. To include the fact that the observations were grouped by city, estimating a model that introduced fixed effects by city and random effects by sex worker. In all cases, the categories were created from the observed distribution of the variables of the two groups. Additionally, three indices were generated: Sociodemographic profile; conditions and environment related to the exercise of sexual services; background in sexual work, activity record.
Anxiety has become one of the most prevalent mental health problems among university students, with significant implications for academic performance, social adjustment, and overall well-being. This study aimed to examine anxiety manifestations among university students, analyzing potential differences by gender and age. A total of 209 students aged 18 to 25 years (M = 19.67; SD = 1.51) participated, of whom 67.5% were female. The Mexican version of the Adult Manifest Anxiety Scale (AMAS, 36 dichotomous items) was administered, showing good internal consistency (Cronbach’s α = .83). Findings revealed moderate to high anxiety levels in the sample (M = 23.08; SD = 6.08). Statistically significant differences were found by gender (U = 5619.5, p = .027), with women reporting higher anxiety scores than men. No significant associations were observed between age and anxiety. These results are consistent with Latin American and international evidence indicating higher prevalence of anxiety symptoms among female students and similar anxiety levels across age groups in the university stage. Preventive and supportive psychological programs with a gender-sensitive approach and focused on common academic stressors are recommended.
2025-12-27T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 https://doxa.uach.mx/index.php/doxa/article/view/367Implementation of a quality system to improve performance in a family metalworking SME in Ciudad Juárez. Quality management is not only a business strategy, but also the epicenter of competitiveness in the economy (Rodriguez, 2023). This article presents the design and implementation of a quality management system applied in a SME in the metalworking sector with various administrative management problems. Through a documentary-field case study and using the participatory observation technique, the ISO 9001:2015 quality system was implemented in six phases. Positive results were obtained in several indicators, showing favorable performance in information updates, but facing notable challenges such as downtime and overtime in operational activities. A more exhaustive and precise evaluation is proposed for the future, allowing for more effective results.
2025-07-04T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 https://doxa.uach.mx/index.php/doxa/article/view/381Emotional burnout in secondary school teachers in Cayambe Canton, Ecuador: application of the modified MBI instrument2025-10-20T15:58:07+00:00Diego Orlando Maldonado Maríndiegomaldonado.est@umecit.edu.paCARLOS ALBERTO SEVERICHE SIERRAcarlos_severiche@cun.edu.co

Emotional exhaustion is the central dimension of the syndrome known as burnout. Consequently, this study was conducted to detail emotional exhaustion within the management of burnout syndrome among secondary school teachers in Cayambe, Ecuador. To this end, a quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive, and cross-sectional study was conducted that applied the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and a complementary sociodemographic form. The results revealed a high prevalence of symptoms associated with fatigue and emotional exhaustion, also a noticeable diminished impact subsequently on motivation and professional performance. Triggering factors, particularly administrative overload and multitasking, were more variable among the teachers surveyed. These results align with international evidence that burnout is associated with structural working conditions, institutional pressure, and limited resources. It is concluded that emotional exhaustion among this group of teachers is a persistent phenomenon that goes beyond the individual and shapes educational dynamics, requiring specific preventive strategies.

2025-12-27T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025
